Tim Curtis: podcast appearances and interviews

Timothy Stephen Curtis, born on 15 January 1960 in Chislehurst, Kent, is a former England cricketer and educator. As a right-handed batsman, he played for Worcestershire, where he was a prolific scorer and served as county captain from 1992 to 1995. Curtis is notable for being one of only two players to score 10,000 one-day runs for Worcestershire. During the late 1980s, he had a brief international career, with his performances often scrutinized for technical issues, particularly against the West Indies and Australia. Cricket correspondent Colin Bateman described Curtis as a diligent, determined opener, brought into the team to stop the decline during challenging matches, with mixed success. His playing era coincided with poor England team performances, and his batting stance and technique at times drew media attention, especially after being frequently dismissed LBW by Terry Alderman during the 1989 series against Australia. Despite these challenges, Curtis demonstrated patience and resilience against prominent teams like the West Indies but was considered less suitable for rebuilding efforts in England after 1990. After retiring from cricket, he pursued a career in education and became the Director of Sport at RGS Worcester. He retired from teaching in 2016.
