Thomas Crooks: podcast appearances and interviews

Thomas Matthew Crooks was an American man known for attempting to assassinate then-presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. On July 13, 2024, at a rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, Crooks shot at Trump from a rooftop using an AR-15–style rifle during a speech. The attack resulted in Crooks wounding Trump's ear, killing one attendee, and critically injuring two others. He was ultimately killed by a Secret Service counter sniper team at the scene. The motive behind Crooks's actions remains unknown, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation concluded its investigation in November 2025.
