Edward Theodore Riley, born on October 8, 1967, is an American record producer and songwriter recognized for creating the genre of new jack swing, which fuses hip-hop and R&B. Riley has worked with numerous notable artists including Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Heavy D & the Boyz, Keith Sweat, Hi-Five, and the Jacksons. His production and songwriting contributions helped popularize the genre through several hit songs and albums from the late 1980s into the 1990s.
