Suvir Saran: podcast appearances and interviews

Suvir Saran, born in New Delhi, India, on November 29, 1972, is a chef, cookbook author, educator, and farmer known for his specialization in bringing Indian cuisine to the American kitchen. He initially studied visual arts at Sir J. J. School of Art in Bombay before moving to New York City in 1993 to attend the School of Visual Arts. During his time in New York, he cultivated an interest in cooking and entertaining, which he eventually turned into a catering business called Rasoi, The Indian Kitchen. Saran expanded his career by joining the Department of Food and Nutrition at New York University's Professional Development and Continuing Education Program in 1997. He later served as an executive chef at Dévi on East 18th Street in New York City. Saran has garnered wider recognition through his appearance on Bravo's Top Chef: Masters during its third season and has authored several best-selling cookbooks. His work as a culinary educator has included hosting events such as an Indian cuisine evening at the University of Notre Dame as part of their celebrity chef series in November 2015. Known for blending traditional Indian flavors with contemporary culinary techniques, Saran has established himself as a prominent figure in promoting Indian food in the United States.
