Steven Hyden: podcast appearances and interviews

Steven Hyden is an American music critic, author, and podcast host born on September 7, 1977. He has served as the national music editor at The A.V. Club and has been a staff writer for Grantland. Currently, he is a cultural critic for Uproxx. Hyden has written album reviews for Pitchfork and contributed articles to Rolling Stone. As an author, he has published books that analyze the music of artists such as Radiohead, Pearl Jam, and Bruce Springsteen. His writings also explore music rivalries, classic rock, and include a memoir about The Black Crowes co-written with former drummer Steve Gorman. Hyden co-hosts the podcasts Indiecast, which is sponsored by Amazon Music, and Never Ending Stories, with Ian Grant and Evan Laffer. He has previously hosted several other podcasts including 36 From the Vault, Rivals, Break Stuff: The Story of Woodstock '99, and Celebration Rock. In addition to his podcasting work, Hyden has appeared as a pundit in various music documentaries and was the story producer of the HBO film Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary scheduled for release in 2024. He also publishes writing on Substack under the name Evil Speakers.
