Steve Taylor: podcast appearances and interviews

Steve Taylor is the head of Curriculum for Sociology at AQA and is affiliated with Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Business School. While best known for his career in the music industry as a singer, songwriter, record producer, and music executive, Taylor's professional pursuits extend into academia and filmmaking. During the 1980s, he achieved success as a solo artist in the Christian alternative rock genre and was a member of the short-lived group Chagall Guevara. His music often addressed themes of Christian hypocrisy with satirical and sardonic lyrics. In 1997, he founded Squint Entertainment, a record label that supported the careers of artists such as Sixpence None the Richer, Chevelle, and Burlap to Cashmere. Taylor was ousted from the label in 2001 after its acquisition by Word Entertainment. He has also produced and written for numerous musical acts, notably the Newsboys. As a filmmaker, he co-wrote, directed, and produced several feature films including Down Under the Big Top, The Second Chance, and Blue Like Jazz. After a hiatus, Taylor returned to performing music in 2010 as the front-man for Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil, a supergroup he assembled with Peter Furler, Jimmy Abegg, and John Mark Painter. In addition to his work in music and filmmaking, he has maintained a focus on academic endeavors and curriculum development in sociology.
