Steven Paul Jobs was an American businessman, inventor, and investor known for his pioneering role in the personal computer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s. He co-founded Apple Inc. in 1976 with Steve Wozniak, initially under the name Apple Computer Company, and played a central role in the development and popularization of personal computers. The success of the Apple II in 1977 helped establish Apple as a major player in the industry. Jobs was instrumental in recognizing the potential of the Xerox Alto's graphical user interface, which influenced the development of subsequent products such as the Apple Lisa and Macintosh 128K. After losing his position at Apple in 1985, he founded NeXT and acquired Pixar, serving as its chairman and majority shareholder. Pixar became notable for producing the first computer-animated feature film, Toy Story, and established itself as a leading animation studio. Jobs returned to Apple in 1997 as CEO, leading the company's revival from near bankruptcy. His influence was crucial in the creation of innovative products including the iMac, iTunes, Mac OS X, iPhone, iPad, and the opening of the Apple Store and App Store. Throughout his career, Jobs was involved in product design and strategic development, earning numerous patents and shaping the technology landscape.
