Steve Cropper: podcast appearances and interviews

Stephen Lee Cropper was an American guitarist, songwriter, and record producer born on October 21, 1941. He was known for his role as the guitarist in the Stax Records house band, Booker T. & the M.G.'s, which provided backing for numerous prominent artists including Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave, Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas, Johnnie Taylor, and Neil Young. In addition to his performance skills, Cropper also served as a producer for many of these artists, contributing to the creative process behind their recordings. Beyond his work at Stax Records, he was a member of the Blues Brothers band, which brought his talents to a wider audience. Recognized for his influence and skill, Cropper was ranked 36th on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 greatest guitarists. Throughout his career, he received seven Grammy Award nominations and won two of these accolades.
