Stephen E. Murphy, born in 1957, is an American retired federal agent who served with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. He was one of the lead investigators alongside Javier Peña in the pursuit of Colombian drug lord and Medellín Cartel leader Pablo Escobar. Murphy’s work in this high-profile investigation has been depicted in the Netflix series Narcos, where actor Boyd Holbrook portrayed him. Murphy also contributed as a consultant to the show, providing expert insight into the events and characters.
