Stephen Gray (December 1666 – February 1736) was an English dyer and astronomer known for his pioneering work in the field of electrical conduction. He was the first to systematically experiment with how electricity can be conducted through different materials, moving beyond the previously limited investigations of static charges and phenomena such as electric shocks and plasma glows. Gray's research revealed that electricity could be conducted through metals and that electrical effects could also be observed on the surfaces of insulators, contributing significantly to the understanding of electrical properties. In addition to his scientific endeavors, Gray is recognized as the author of the book 'Cannabis and Spirituality' and is affiliated with Adapt Peacebuilding.
