Stephan Franck: podcast appearances and interviews

Stephan Franck is a Franco-American animator, writer, director, and comics creator associated with Dark Planet Comics. He has been recognized for his work with an Annie Award nomination for best director in 2013 for the film The Smurfs. Franck supervised the animation of the first season of the Disney+ Marvel Animation series What If and directed several episodes across seasons two and three, including titles such as What If Nebula Joined the Nova Corps and What If the Hulk Fought the Mech Avengers. In the realm of comics, he writes and illustrates the graphic novel series Silver, which earned him a nomination for the Russ Manning Award in 2014. The Silver series has attracted attention for a movie adaptation with writer Andrew Cosby attached as of 2017, and the publication was transferred to Abrams Books' ComicArts imprint in 2022. Franck also launched the neo-noir graphic novel series Palomino in 2020, with additional volumes released in 2023, leading to a nomination for the 2024 Ringo Award. In addition to his work in animation and comics, he is a co-creator of the animated television series Corneil & Bernie.
