Stan Lai: podcast appearances and interviews

Stan Lai, also known as Lai Sheng-chuan, was born on October 25, 1954. He is a Taiwanese playwright and theater director born in the United States. Lai is widely recognized for his play Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, which was selected by the New York Times as one of the essential works of theater since World War I. In addition to his work in theater, Lai is a filmmaker and a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism. He has translated multiple books on the subject, demonstrating his engagement with spiritual and philosophical themes. Robert Brustein has described Lai as the major contemporary Asian playwright of his time and perhaps of all time. In 2007, Lai gained further recognition as an author with the publication of Stan Lai On Creativity, a book on creativity based on a course he taught at Stanford University. The book has been acclaimed for its unique insights into training creativity, appealing to both artistic and business audiences. An English version, titled Creativitry, was published in 2025, further extending his influence in discussions on creativity and innovation.
