Sidney Patrick Crosby is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who serves as a centre and captain for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on August 7, 1987, in Halifax, he was widely regarded as one of the most lauded prospects in ice hockey history and is considered one of the greatest players of all time. During his major junior career with the Rimouski Océanic, Crosby received numerous awards and led his team to the 2005 Memorial Cup final.
