Shelley Herman: podcast appearances and interviews

Shelley Herman, born on February 7, 1955, in Philadelphia, is an American television writer recognized for her work on numerous game shows and television programs. Her credits include popular shows such as Supermarket Sweep, Liar's Club, Love Connection, Breakaway, Outdoor Outtakes, Trivia Unwrapped, Balderdash, Show Me the Money, and The Million Second Quiz. Her contributions to the television industry have earned her critical recognition, including a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1985 for Outstanding Special Class Writing for her work on Breakaway. In addition to her writing career, Herman participated twice as a contestant on the game show The Dating Game. She chronicled her experiences working in television as a page for NBC in her autobiographical memoir, My Peacock Tale: Secrets Of An NBC Page, published in 2023. During her tenure in the 1970s in Burbank, California, she worked on numerous variety shows, talk shows, and game shows such as The Tonight Show, The Gong Show, The Midnight Special, Hollywood Squares, Password, Sanford and Son, and Chico and the Man. Herman graduated from Agoura High School and California State University, Northridge. She is married to Randall Carver.
