Shawne Merriman: podcast appearances and interviews

Shawne DeAndre Merriman, born on May 25, 1984, is a former professional football player known for his career as a linebacker in the National Football League. He played college football for the Maryland Terrapins and was selected 12th overall in the 2005 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. Merriman earned NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors during his first season and achieved notable success in his initial three seasons, recording over 39 and a half quarterback sacks and receiving three Pro Bowl selections as well as two All-Pro honors. His career was later impacted by injuries, which limited his play in subsequent seasons. In 2010, the Chargers waived Merriman midseason, and he was subsequently claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills. Although he was part of the Bills roster, continued injuries resulted in limited playtime. Merriman was released by the Bills prior to the 2012 season but was re-signed midseason, eventually retiring at the end of the 2012 season. Known by the nickname
