Shawn Johnson East: podcast appearances and interviews

Shawn Johnson East, born Shawn Machel Johnson on January 19, 1992, is an American former artistic gymnast. She joined the U.S. senior gymnastics team in 2007 and quickly established herself as a prominent competitor. Her achievements in 2007 include winning the all-around at the American Cup, Pan American Games, U.S. National Championships, and World Championships. She became the 2007 all-around World Champion and secured the world title on floor exercise. Johnson contributed to the U.S. team that won gold at the 2007 World Championships and also earned individual medals such as the U.S. Champion on balance beam and floor exercise that year. In 2008, she claimed the U.S. Championship on floor exercise and earned a silver on balance beam. Over her career, she won multiple titles, including the all-around at national and international events, and became a five-time Pan American Games gold medalist. Her Olympic accomplishments include winning gold on the balance beam and silver medals in team, all-around, and floor exercise at the 2008 Beijing Games. Johnson was also a three-time U.S. all-around Champion, winning once as a junior and twice as a senior. Beyond gymnastics, she participated in season eight of Dancing with the Stars, winning the competition, and finished second in the all-star edition. She retired from gymnastics on June 3, 2012.
