Shaparak Khorsandi: podcast appearances and interviews

Shaparak Khorsandi, born on June 8, 1973, is an Iranian-born British comedian and author. She is the daughter of Hadi Khorsandi, an Iranian political satirist and poet. Her family left Iran following the 1979 revolution, and her Iranian heritage is frequently referenced in her stand-up comedy performances. Khorsandi gained national recognition through her 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show titled Asylum Speaker and her appearance at the Secret Policeman's Ball in 2008. She has been featured on various British television and radio programs, including the BBC Radio 4 series Shappi Talk in 2009 and 2010. In 2017, she participated in the television show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here. As an author, Khorsandi has published several books including her memoir A Beginner's Guide to Acting English in 2009. Her first novel Nina is Not OK was released in 2016, followed by her young adult fiction novel Kissing Emma in 2021. Her autobiographical work Scatter Brain was published in 2023, adding to her diverse contributions to literature.
