Shane Carter: podcast appearances and interviews

Shane Michael Carter, born on 17 March 1974 in Rotorua, is a New Zealand former professional rugby union player and the CEO of Hampshire Capital. During his rugby career, Carter was a national under-age representative as a hooker, playing for the New Zealand under-17s, under-19s, and Colts teams. He attended Nelson College and competed for the Hurricanes from 2000 to 2002, primarily as an understudy to Norm Hewitt and Andrew Hore. In 2003, he played a season with the Chiefs before retiring from professional rugby. Much of his provincial rugby was played with Wellington, which he joined from Manawatu, and he was their first choice hooker in the 2002 season. In addition to his athletic pursuits, Carter holds a leadership position in the financial sector as chief executive officer of Hampshire Capital. His post-athletic life has included legal challenges; in 2017, he faced multiple charges related to violence and disorder, including an attack on his wife and obstruction of police. He was sentenced in the Oamaru District Court to six months supervision for male assaults female and an additional six months for assaulting a police officer.
