Seth Harris: podcast appearances and interviews

Seth Harris is the growth director for Emerson's Power business in North America and a member of the Burnes Center for Social Change. His professional background includes extensive experience in government and academia. Harris served as the United States Deputy Secretary of Labor from 2009 to 2014 under President Barack Obama. He was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate and served as acting Secretary of Labor for six months following the resignation of Hilda Solis. During his time in government, Harris was also a member of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation's Board of Directors. After leaving the Obama administration, he pursued academic roles, including visiting professor at the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs and distinguished scholar at Cornell University's School of Industrial & Labor Relations. Harris has also worked as a lawyer in Washington, D.C., and held the position of Deputy Assistant to the President for Labor and the Economy as well as deputy director of the National Economic Council during the Biden administration until July 2022. Currently, he serves on several boards of directors, advising early stage companies, and practices law and policy as a professor of the practice at Northeastern University.
