Sergei Fedorov: podcast appearances and interviews

Sergei Viktorovich Fedorov, born December 13, 1969, is a Russian former professional ice hockey player and former head coach of CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League. During his playing career, he was best known for his 13 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, primarily as a centre, but also playing as a winger or defenceman. Fedorov was one of the first hockey players to defect from the Soviet Union to play in the National Hockey League. While with Detroit, he secured three Stanley Cup championships and was awarded the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player in 1994. After leaving the Red Wings in 2003, he played for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Washington Capitals before retiring in 2009. Over his NHL career, he played more than 1,200 games and scored 483 goals. Fedorov is a three-time Olympian, the first European-trained player to win the Hart Trophy, and is regarded as one of the best playoff performers in NHL history. In 2017, he was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players. Fedorov last played for Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL, where he was named captain in 2011. He served as an ambassador for Russia at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015 and the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 2016, his jersey number 91 is scheduled to be retired by the Detroit Red Wings in 2026, making him the ninth player in team history with a jersey retirement.
