Sean Wang: podcast appearances and interviews

Sean Wang is a Taiwanese-American film director born in 1994 or 1995. He is recognized for his work in documentary and narrative filmmaking. His documentary short, Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó, premiered at the 2023 South by Southwest festival, where it received both the Grand Jury Award and the Audience Award. The film was subsequently nominated for Best Documentary Short Film at the 96th Academy Awards. Wang's feature-length debut, Dìdi, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and was honored with the U.S. Dramatic Audience Award. The film also earned Wang two Independent Spirit Awards. In June 2025, Wang was invited to join the Short Films Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, marking a significant recognition of his contributions to the film industry.
