Scott Lively: podcast appearances and interviews

Scott Douglas Lively, born on December 14, 1957, is an American pastor, Christian conservative attorney, speaker, missionary, and author. He serves as the president of Abiding Truth Ministries, an organization based in Temecula, California, that is known for its anti-LGBTQ stance. Lively has been involved in various conservative and religious initiatives, including co-founding the Latvia-based group Watchmen on the Walls, serving as the state director of the California branch of the American Family Association, and acting as a spokesman for the Oregon Citizens Alliance. He has also run unsuccessfully for governor of Massachusetts in 2014 and 2018. Lively is known for promoting a strict anti-gay interpretation of the Bible, and he has been involved in the ex-gay movement. His activities include calling for the criminalization of public advocacy of homosexuality, an effort he has supported since at least 2007. He co-authored the book The Pink Swastika in 1995, which claims that gay individuals were prominent in the Nazi Party and responsible for Nazi atrocities. Lively has been widely credited as an influence in the development of Uganda's Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2014, having given a series of talks to Ugandan lawmakers prior to the legislation's drafting.
