Sam Irvin: podcast appearances and interviews

Sam Irvin, born on June 14, 1956, is an American film and television director, producer, screenwriter, actor, author, and film teacher. His directing work includes the films Guilty as Charged, Oblivion, and Elvira's Haunted Hills, as well as all episodes of the television series Dante's Cove and From Here on OUT. Irvin's credits also encompass roles as co-executive producer of the Academy Award-winning film Gods and Monsters, associate producer of Brian De Palma's Home Movies, and historical consultant on the Tony Award-winning production Liza's at the Palace.

In addition to his film and television work, Irvin is an author of various publications. He authored the biography Kay Thompson: From Funny Face to Eloise, published by Simon & Schuster, and has written the children's book parody Sam's Toilet Paper Caper! as well as the novel ORBGASM: An Erotic Pulp Sci-Fi Satyricon. Irvin has received recognition for his writing, earning two Rondo Awards for Best Article of the Year and Best Interview of the Year for articles published in Little Shoppe of Horrors and Screem magazines, respectively.

Irvin has also been involved in education, having taught graduate courses on directing at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, contributing to the next generation of filmmakers and industry professionals.
