Russell Williams: podcast appearances and interviews

David Russell Williams is a former colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was born on March 7, 1963, in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England, and later emigrated to Canada with his family. Williams studied economics and political science at the University of Toronto's Scarborough campus before pursuing a career in the Canadian Forces. He served as a decorated pilot and was responsible for flying Canadian Forces VIP aircraft for dignitaries and heads of state. From July 2009 until his arrest in January 2010, Williams commanded CFB Trenton, Canada's largest military airbase and a key hub for the country's air transport operations. His military career ended when he was charged with multiple serious crimes, including two counts of first-degree murder, sexual assaults, forcible confinement, and breaking and entering. Investigations uncovered extensive evidence of his criminal activities, which included breaking into numerous homes to steal underwear, escalating into sexual assaults and murders. Williams confessed to the sexual assault and murder of Jessica Lloyd and Corporal Marie-France Comeau, along with other crimes. In October 2010, he was sentenced to multiple life and lengthy prison terms, with a minimum of 25 years before parole eligibility. Following his conviction, Williams was dismissed from the military, stripped of his ranks and awards, and his military equipment was destroyed by the Canadian Forces.
