Russ Morgan: podcast appearances and interviews

Russ Morgan (April 29, 1904 – August 7, 1969) was an American big band leader and arranger active during the 1930s and 1940s. He is notably recognized as one of the composers of the song "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You," alongside Larry Stock and James Cavanaugh, and was the first to record the song in 1944. Morgan's musical work experienced a resurgence in popularity in the early 2020s when some of his compositions were sampled by the artist known as the Caretaker for albums such as An Empty Bliss Beyond This World and Everywhere at the End of Time. These albums utilize loops of degraded big band music to convey themes related to Alzheimer's disease. Morgan's songs, including “Goodnight my Beautiful,” “Moonlight and Shadows,” and “Room with a View,” have been sampled in various tracks, contributing to his posthumous influence and recognition in contemporary experimental music.
