Roy Maurice Keane, born on August 10, 1971, is an Irish football pundit, former coach, and retired professional player. He is recognized for his extensive career in the Premier League, most notably for his role as captain of Manchester United. During his 18-year playing career, Keane also played for Cobh Ramblers, Nottingham Forest, and Celtic, ending his playing days after winning the Scottish Premier League and Scottish League Cup with Celtic. He was a formidable box-to-box midfielder known for his aggressive and competitive style of play. Keane's leadership contributed to Manchester United's success over 12 seasons, where he secured seven Premier League titles, four FA Cups, and the UEFA Champions League. His achievements made him one of the most decorated Irish footballers, sharing the record with Denis Irwin and Ronnie Whelan with 19 major trophies. Internationally, Keane represented the Republic of Ireland for over 14 years, serving as captain in most of that time.
