Roger Keith Ver, born in 1979, is an entrepreneur recognized for his early involvement in Bitcoin and the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem. He is known for being one of the first investors in Bitcoin and actively promoting Bitcoin-related startups during its formative years. Ver is sometimes referred to as Bitcoin Jesus due to his efforts in evangelizing cryptocurrency. While he has often been associated with Bitcoin Cash, he has clarified that his support extends to any cryptocurrency that functions as peer-to-peer cash, aligning with the principles outlined in the original Bitcoin whitepaper by Satoshi Nakamoto. Ver served as the CEO of Bitcoin.com and later held the position of Executive Chairman. In 2014, he renounced his United States citizenship and obtained citizenship in Saint Kitts and Nevis. In 2024, Ver was indicted for tax fraud but reached a settlement with the IRS without facing criminal prosecution.
