Roger Staubach: podcast appearances and interviews

Roger Thomas Staubach, born on February 5, 1942, is an American former professional football quarterback and a Hall of Famer in the National Football League. He played for the Dallas Cowboys during his entire 11-season NFL career and was known by nicknames such as "Roger the Dodger," "Captain America," and "Captain Comeback." Staubach attended the U.S. Naval Academy, where he played college football for the Navy Midshipmen and received the Heisman Trophy in 1963. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Navy, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.

Staubach joined the Dallas Cowboys in 1969 following the retirement of Don Meredith and became the franchise's second major quarterback. Throughout his career, he led the team to five Super Bowls, winning four of them, including Super Bowls VI and XII. He was named Super Bowl VI Most Valuable Player and was a six-time Pro Bowl selection. Staubach is one of ten players who have won both the Heisman Trophy and been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and he remains the only quarterback to have achieved this distinction. Upon retiring from football, he founded The Staubach Group, a commercial real estate firm, which was later sold to Jones Lang LaSalle in 2008 for $613 million. Staubach subsequently served as the executive chairman of the Americas region for Jones Lang LaSalle until his retirement in 2018, the same year he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
