Rodney Dangerfield: podcast appearances and interviews

Jack Roy, better known by his stage name Rodney Dangerfield, was an American stand-up comedian, actor, screenwriter, and producer. He was particularly recognized for his self-deprecating one-liner humor, his catchphrase 'I don't get no respect,' and his monologues centered around that theme. Dangerfield began his career performing as a stand-up comic at the Fantasy Lounge in New York City. His act gained popularity through appearances on late-night talk shows during the 1960s and 1970s, and he eventually became a headliner on the Las Vegas casino circuit. His breakthrough film role was as a boorish, nouveau riche golfer in the ensemble sports comedy Caddyshack in 1980. Following this, he starred in several comedy films including Easy Money, Back to School, Rover Dangerfield, Ladybugs, and Meet Wally Sparks. He also took a rare dramatic turn portraying an abusive father in Oliver Stone's satirical crime film Natural Born Killers in 1994. Over his career, Dangerfield released seven comedy albums, one of which, No Respect, won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album in 1980. He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2002. His later years were affected by health issues, ultimately leading to his death in 2004 after a month in a coma caused by complications from heart valve surgery.
