Richard Ivan Mack, born December 27, 1952, served as the sheriff of Graham County, Arizona, from 1988 to 1996. He is an American politician known for his involvement in gun rights advocacy and legal actions related to firearm legislation. Mack formerly worked as a lobbyist for Gun Owners of America. He played a role in a successful lawsuit that challenged parts of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, asserting that those parts infringed on the United States Constitution. In addition to his tenure as sheriff, Mack is the founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association. He also serves on the board of directors of the Oath Keepers, an organization composed of current and former military, police, and first responders dedicated to conservative activism.
