Reza Pahlavi: podcast appearances and interviews

Reza Pahlavi born on October 31 1960 is an Iranian political activist and the former Crown Prince of the Pahlavi dynasty of Iran. He is the eldest son of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi the last Shah of Iran and his wife Empress Farah. Pahlavi was officially designated Crown Prince during his father's coronation in 1967. He trained as a pilot in the Imperial Iranian Air Force before moving to the United States in 1978 for pilot training at Reese Air Force Base. In 1979 his father left Iran and the monarchy was abolished during the Islamic Revolution. After his father's death in exile in Cairo in 1980 Pahlavi declared himself Shah of Iran adopting the title Reza Shah II and became active in opposition to the Islamic Republic from abroad. In 2013 he co-founded the Iran National Council an organization advocating for democratic change. Pahlavi has called for a nationwide referendum to determine Iran's future government and has urged Iranians to protest against the current regime. He has expressed support for Iran becoming an ally of the Western world and Israel. His political stance has garnered both support and criticism; he is considered a prominent opposition figure during recent protests and is viewed as an influential supporter of the monarchy by some, while others see him as a polarizing figure reliant on foreign backing. Pahlavi presents himself as a potential transitional leader capable of guiding Iran toward democracy if the current government were to be overthrown.
