Reminisce Kioni Smith, known professionally as Remy Ma, is an American rapper born on May 30, 1980. She was discovered by the late rapper Big Pun and gained recognition as a member of Fat Joe's group, Terror Squad. Her debut solo album, There's Something About Remy: Based on a True Story, was released in 2006 and sold 37,000 copies in its first week. Remy Ma is known for her commercially successful songs such as 'Lean Back', 'Conceited', and 'All the Way Up'. She has received multiple awards including two BET Awards for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, won in 2005 and 2017, and has received two Vibe Awards and two Source Awards. Additionally, she has been nominated for four Grammy Awards. From 2015 to 2020, she appeared on VH1's reality series Love & Hip Hop: New York, alongside her then-husband Papoose.
