Ravishankar Jayadritha Shastri, born on 27 May 1962, is an Indian cricket commentator and former professional cricketer. He played for the India national cricket team from 1981 to 1992 in both Test matches and One Day Internationals. Initially a left arm spin bowler, he later developed into a batting all-rounder. As a member of the Indian squad, he contributed to India's victory in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Shastri's career highlights include being named Champion of Champions at the World Championship of Cricket in Australia in 1985 and equaling a record set by Garry Sobers by hitting six sixes in an over in first class cricket in January 1985.
