Quinton Donald Lucas, born on August 19, 1984, is the mayor of Kansas City, Missouri. He assumed office on August 1, 2019, becoming the 55th mayor of the city. Lucas is recognized as the youngest person to hold the mayoral position in Kansas City since 1855 and is the third African-American to serve as mayor. He is affiliated with the Democratic Party. Raised predominantly on Kansas City's East Side, he experienced poverty and homelessness during his childhood.
