Phil Robertson

Phil Alexander Robertson was an American professional hunter, businessman, and television personality. He was born on April 24, 1946, and passed away on May 25, 2025. Robertson was the founder of the hunting products company Duck Commander and served as the patriarch of the Robertson family featured on the television series Duck Dynasty and the show Duck Commander on the Outdoor Channel. He attended Louisiana Tech University, where he played football, and earned a master's degree in education. Prior to founding Duck Commander, he spent several years teaching. Robertson became a well-known television personality through his role in Duck Dynasty, gaining widespread recognition as a reality television star. His career was marked by both popularity and controversy; in 2013, he made remarks about homosexual behavior in an interview with GQ magazine that led to his suspension from Duck Dynasty by A&E. The suspension lasted nine days before being lifted due to support from his fans. In addition to his television work, Robertson's life was the subject of a biographical film titled The Blind, released in theaters in September 2023.
