About Phil Lane
Phil Lane was an Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League. Although he was listed at Fitzroy for three years, he made only a single appearance with the senior team during the 1932 VFL season in a match against North Melbourne. After his playing career, Lane became a field umpire and officiated in 26 VFL games between 1943 and 1946. He also umpired the reserves Grand Final in 1947. In addition to his involvement in football, Lane is known as the author of The Narrative Therapy Workbook for Self-Esteem.
