Phil Gilbert: podcast appearances and interviews

Phil Gilbert is the author of Irresistible Change: A Blueprint for Earning Buy-In and Breakout Success and is affiliated with the SIU System. His professional background includes work in the real estate sector in the Peel Region before transitioning into roles within sports organizations. Gilbert has served as the director for the Great Southern Football Academy at North Albany Senior High School, where he works with youth to promote engagement and development. In addition to his leadership in education and sports, Gilbert has a background in Australian rules football, which includes playing for both the Melbourne and Fremantle Football Clubs in the Australian Football League. Drafted from Claremont in the WAFL by Melbourne with the 19th selection in the 1991 AFL draft, he primarily played as a defender. Gilbert was traded by Melbourne to Fremantle in 1994 in exchange for a draft pick that was used to recruit Jeff Farmer, a notable player who scored over 400 goals in AFL football. His playing career with Fremantle included 14 games before he was delisted at the end of the 1996 season. Following his playing career, Gilbert moved to Mandurah where he became the inaugural captain of the Peel Thunder Football Club, an expansion team in the WAFL. He later served as coach for the Pinjarra Tigers in the Peel Football League and returned to Peel Thunder as an assistant coach in 2004, working alongside head coach Garry Hocking.
