Pete Townshend is an English musician and songwriter renowned for his role as co-founder, guitarist, keyboardist, second lead vocalist, and principal songwriter of the influential rock band The Who. Born on 19 May 1945, he has contributed significantly to the music industry through his aggressive playing style, poetic songwriting, and authorship of notable rock operas such as Tommy and Quadrophenia. His songwriting portfolio for The Who includes more than 100 songs across twelve studio albums, featuring iconic works like Who's Next, as well as additional tracks on singles, reissues, and compilations.
