Pete Carroll: podcast appearances and interviews

Peter Clay Carroll, born September 15, 1951, is an American football coach with extensive experience at both the college and professional levels. He served as the head coach of the USC Trojans for nine seasons, during which he transformed the struggling program into a national powerhouse. His tenure there included winning seven consecutive conference championships and securing an AP national championship, along with a BCS national championship at the 2005 Orange Bowl, though the latter was later vacated. Carroll's college success led to his return to the NFL in 2010 as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. Over 14 seasons with the Seahawks, he guided the team to 10 playoff appearances, five division titles, and two Super Bowl appearances, winning Super Bowl XLVIII and earning recognition for leading the franchise to its first championship. Under his leadership, the Seahawks' Legion of Boom defense achieved league-high scoring defense for four consecutive seasons. Prior to his successful period with the Seahawks, Carroll's NFL coaching career included head coaching roles with the New York Jets in 1994 and the New England Patriots from 1997 to 1999, but he experienced limited success at that level. After stepping down from his Seahawks position following the 2023 season to an advisory role, he became head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2025. His tenure there lasted one season, ending with a 3-14 record.
