Peabo Bryson: podcast appearances and interviews

Robert Lee Peabo Bryson was an American singer and songwriter born on April 13, 1951, and passed away on June 2, 2026. He collaborated with artists such as Luther Vandross and Cissy Houston on his debut album Peabo, released in 1976. Following this, he signed with Capitol Records and released the albums Reaching for the Sky and Crosswinds in 1978, both of which were certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Bryson also worked on collaborative projects including We're the Best of Friends with Natalie Cole in 1979 and Born to Love with Roberta Flack in 1983, the latter featuring the hit single Tonight, I Celebrate My Love. In 1984, he signed to Elektra Records and released the single If Ever You're in My Arms Again, which topped the adult contemporary chart for several weeks. Throughout his career, Bryson achieved several top ten albums on the U.S. Billboard R&B albums chart, including Can You Stop the Rain in 1991, which reached the top position. He was also known for his contributions to Disney animated film soundtracks, collaborating with artists like Celine Dion on Beauty and the Beast and Regina Belle on A Whole New World. The latter song became the first from an animated feature film to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Bryson was recognized with two Grammy Awards, both for his work on Disney duets.
