Paul Harrison: podcast appearances and interviews

Paul Harrison, born in 1945 in Oldham, is a professor of religious studies who is also known for his work as an environmental writer and author. Throughout his career, he has focused on topics related to environment and development, and has served as an editor for major United Nations reports. Harrison has worked for six UN agencies and has traveled extensively in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, contributing to discussions on Third-World development and poverty. His notable publications include Inside the Third World, The Third Revolution, The Greening of Africa, and Inside the Inner City. He received the UN Environment Programme Global 500 Roll of Honour award in 1988 for his writings on the environment and was also recognized with a Global Media Award from the Population Institute. Harrison has edited key reports for UN agencies such as the Food and Agriculture Organization, the United Nations Population Fund, and the United Nations Environment Programme. He was the lead author of the Atlas of Population and Environment for the American Association for the Advancement of Science and edited the United Nations Environment Programme Yearbook from 2005 to 2008. Harrison holds master's degrees in European languages and literature from the University of Cambridge and in political sociology from the London School of Economics, along with a PhD in Earth Sciences and Geography from Cambridge. He founded and became president of the World Pantheist Movement in the late 1990s, beginning with the publication of the scientific pantheism site and the launch of its mailing list.
