Paul English: podcast appearances and interviews

Paul English was an American musician best known for his long-standing role as Willie Nelson's drummer. He began playing with Nelson in Fort Worth in 1955 and became the band's regular drummer in 1966. In addition to his work with Nelson, English performed with artists such as Delbert McClinton. Early in his career, he undertook responsibilities beyond drumming, including serving as a collection agent for overdue payments from club owners for the band. English was the husband of his second wife, Janie English. He was the subject of the Willie Nelson album Me and Paul, which included a title track named after him, and he appeared in Nelson's film Red Headed Stranger in 1986. In 1985, English joined Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Neil Young as one of the first members of the board of directors for Farm Aid, an organization dedicated to supporting American farmers. He served as the organization's treasurer for many years. Paul English passed away on February 11, 2020, at the age of 87 due to acute pneumonia.
