Patrick Dennis: podcast appearances and interviews

Patrick Dennis was the pseudonym of Edward Everett Tanner III, an American author renowned for his novel Auntie Mame: An Irreverent Escapade, published in 1955. The book became one of the best-selling American books of the 20th century. The narrative is delivered through the eyes of a narrator also named Patrick, who recounts his adventures growing up under the care of his eccentric aunt, Mame Dennis. Tanner wrote a sequel, titled Around the World with Auntie Mame, in 1958, which continued the story. The character of Mame Dennis was inspired by Tanner's aunt, Marion Tanner, who was his father's sister. In addition to Auntie Mame, Tanner authored several novels under the pseudonym Virginia Rowans. He often employed first-person narration in his works, intentionally blurring the line between fact and fiction, and using traditional comic devices such as masks, subterfuge, and deception to enhance his storytelling.
