Pamela Williams: podcast appearances and interviews

Pamela Williams, born in 1954, is an Australian investigative journalist and author. She began her career at BRW and is best known for her work with The Australian Financial Review, where she was employed from 1987 until 2014. During her tenure at the newspaper, she held various positions, including news editor and editor-at-large. In 2014, Williams left the Financial Review to pursue a career in novel writing, having previously authored two best-selling non-fiction books. Her 1997 book, The Victory, focused on the Coalition's victory at the 1996 Australian federal election, while her 2013 publication, Killing Fairfax: Packer, Murdoch and the Ultimate Revenge, examined the decline of the Australian media company Fairfax, winning the 2013 Walkley Book Award. In December 2014, Williams became a senior writer at The Australian, and in 2019, she contributed an essay to The Monthly about the 2018 Liberal Party of Australia leadership spills. Throughout her career, Williams has received recognition for her investigative work, including six Walkley Awards. Notably, she was awarded the Gold Walkley in 1998 for her story A Plan To Smash A Union, which investigated the 1998 Australian waterfront dispute. Her accolades also include the Graham Perkin Australian Journalist of the Year Award, a Melbourne Press Club Quill Award, and the University of Technology Sydney George Munster Award. In May 2019, she rejoined The Australian Financial Review as a Writer-at-large, continuing her influential presence in Australian journalism.
