Nick Black: podcast appearances and interviews

Nick Black is the Head of Fleet, Logistics and EVCI at Whitemire Trucking. His background includes extensive experience in healthcare research and services. Black studied medicine at the University of Birmingham, graduating in 1974, and worked for the Save the Children Fund in Nepal for 18 months. He then pursued a doctorate and training in public health at Oxford University between 1978 and 1982. Following this, he served as a lecturer at the Open University for three years, during which he co-authored a distance-learning course titled 'Health and Disease' with professionals from various disciplines. In 1985, Black joined the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, eventually becoming a chair in health services research in 1995. He established and co-edited the Journal of Health Services Research and Policy from 1996 until 2017. Among his publications is the book 'Walking London's Medical History' published in 2006, which explores London's medical history through a series of guided walks. Since 2016, Black has created GPS-guided walks available via VoiceMap. His contributions to healthcare research have been recognized through his knighthood as a Knight Bachelor in 2017, and he holds Honorary Fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons in England.
