Linnethia Monique NeNe Leakes née Johnson, born on December 13, 1967, is an American television personality, actress, and businesswoman. She gained prominence as a breakout star on Bravo's reality television series The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Leakes is widely recognized as one of the most notable figures in the Real Housewives franchise and has made a significant impact on reality television and pop culture. She was born in Queens, New York, and raised in Athens, Georgia, and has also appeared as a recurring character, Roz Washington, on the Fox comedy-drama series Glee. Additionally, she played Rocky Rhoades as a series regular on the NBC sitcom The New Normal until its cancellation in 2013. Her television appearances include participation on NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice and ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Leakes expanded her career into theater, making her Broadway debut in 2014 as Madame in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, and later starred as Matron Mama Morton in the musical Chicago in 2015. She was also a regular panelist on ABC's revival of the game show To Tell the Truth. Beyond her television work, Leakes launched a clothing line on the Home Shopping Network and established SWAGG boutiques in select cities across the United States.
