Mizero Ncuti Gatwa is a Rwandan-Scottish actor born on October 15, 1992. He began his acting career on stage at the Dundee Repertory Theatre and received a nomination for the Ian Charleson Award for his portrayal of Mercutio in a 2014 production of Romeo & Juliet at the HOME arts centre. Gatwa is widely recognized for his role as Eric Effiong in the Netflix series Sex Education, which he portrayed from 2019 to 2023. For this performance, he earned three consecutive nominations for the British Academy Television Award for Best Male Comedy Performance and won the BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actor in Television in 2020.
