Nathan Hochman: podcast appearances and interviews

Nathan Joseph Hochman, born on November 26, 1963, is an American politician and attorney serving as the 44th District Attorney of Los Angeles County since 2024. He has a background as a former federal prosecutor and Assistant United States Attorney General. Hochman held the position of United States Assistant Attorney General for the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice in 2008. From 1990 to 1997, he worked as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California in the Criminal Division. In the private sector, Hochman was a partner at several nationwide law firms and is recognized as an expert in tax law, criminal defense, and environmental law. Prior to his role as district attorney, he served as General Counsel at Ross LLP. Hochman also held the position of president of the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission from 2011 to 2016. He was the Republican nominee in the 2022 California Attorney General election. After becoming an independent, he was elected district attorney in 2024, defeating incumbent George Gascón by a wide margin.
