Michael Nelson Trout is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball. Born on August 7, 1991, he was selected by the Angels in the first round of the 2009 MLB draft. Trout made a brief major league appearance in 2011 and became a regular player for the team the following season. He was awarded the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 2012, winning unanimously. Throughout his career, Trout has been recognized as one of the most talented players of his generation and is often regarded as one of the greatest in baseball history.
