Mike Park: podcast appearances and interviews

Michael Brian Park is an American musician, progressive activist, and chief executive officer of Mountain Rescue England and Wales. His musical career includes involvement with bands such as Skankin' Pickle, The Chinkees, The Bruce Lee Band, Kitty Kat Fan Club, Ogikubo Station, and an acoustic solo project under his own name. He founded Asian Man Records in 1996, a label based in California that primarily supports ska and punk bands. The label has helped launch the careers of acts such as Less Than Jake, Alkaline Trio, and The Lawrence Arms, and also releases Park's own music. Beyond his musical endeavors, Park established the Plea for Peace Foundation in 1999, an organization dedicated to promoting peace through music. He was also the driving force behind the Spring 1998 Ska Against Racism tour, which aimed to raise awareness about racism and generate funds for anti-racism organizations, including the Museum of Tolerance. The tour featured bands like The Toasters, Less Than Jake, The Blue Meanies, Mustard Plug, Five Iron Frenzy, MU330, and Kemuri. Through his work in music and activism, Park has consistently sought to promote social justice and positive change.
